Principal Program Specialist
Community Services Department – Aging Services Division (TEMPORARY Full-time – Approximately 2 years)
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The specific functions of the Regional Mobility Manager will be to serve as project manager for the ARC’s Veteran’s Transportation Community Living Initiative Grant for the development of software designed to support the foundation of a regional “one-click” system. The position will coordinate technical efforts to support the development of the “one-click” software application and integrate the necessary components to link multiple existing call centers to one centralized database with a multi-functional web interface. At a minimum, the successful candidate will demonstrate an overall understanding of software development, the resources and tools to research needs and demands of users, and will have the leadership skills to interface between ARC’s HST Coordination Committee and other identified ARC Committees and staff. Successful candidates will also demonstrate their capacity to manage an additional project designed to investigate the region’s ability to streamline eligibility requirements among prospective partners, investigate the current transportation brokerage system, and determine long term funding options to sustain and expand the “one-click” system.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Urban Planning or related field and three years of experience supervising activities, preferable in a public agency environment. Master’s preferred. Knowledge of basic project management, marketing, record-keeping, contract and budget administration, and regional transportation resources desirable; excellent communications skills required along with time management skills; must have working knowledge of geographic information systems; must be proficient in standard office equipment, MS Office and related software applications.
