The YPT Boston Board is excited, and also sad, about the departure of Candace Brakewood, chair and founder of YPT Boston. Candy, a PhD student at MIT, is moving to Atlanta in August 2012 to continue her studies down south. She will serve as Boston Chair through the end of her term in October.
We are all extremely proud of Candy. To say that she has built YPT from nothing to a growing, thriving Boston organization is an understatement: Candy has spent countless hours motivating the Board, recruiting members, networking with other regional organizations, and dedicating so much of her free time to building the structure for YPT Boston and other YPT chapters around the country.
What we’ll miss about Candy most is her enthusiasm. Candy gets so excited about our events, our progress, and our teamwork as an organization. Her excitement motivates us to do a better job and keep moving forward.
Although she is moving to Atlanta and will be stepping down from her position as Chair this fall, we know that we will still hear from Candy – likely a “Great job guys!” or “Looks like a great event!” or other encouraging words. Candy is the kind of person you want on your team – well, leading your team – and she is the primary reason for our growth and success over the last two years in Boston.
Thank you Candy and WE’LL MISS YOU!
Thank you Candy for your tireless leadership of YPT-Boston from the very beginning and achieving your fabulous vision for the organization–you should be proud! Best of luck in Atlanta, and let me know if there is anything I can do to help with your transition and beyond.
