We are seeking a Transportation Policy and Planning Analyst to work in our Tallahassee office as part of our Transportation Planning and Management group. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a growing team of transportation professionals to provide project management, policy, analytical, and communication support on a range of transportation planning issues.
Responsibilities: Help manage administration of a large on-call support services contract. Manage specific tasks under the on-call contract. Provide technical, administrative, and other support to managers of other tasks. Provide direction to staff supporting task work orders. Manage or support projects or tasks for other clients in Florida and the Southeastern United States in specific areas of expertise. Task requirements are likely to cover policy and legislative support, public involvement, stakeholder coordination and consensus-building, strategic communications, economic and financial analysis, systems and corridor planning, and other ad-hoc client support. The position also includes some responsibility for business development activities, including proactive lead tracking and proposal development.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Public Policy, Economics, Transportation Engineering, or related field. At least 5 years of experience in transportation planning or related fields. Experience working on transportation planning and policy tasks with quick turnaround times. Ability to work independently, manage staff, and juggle multiple responsibilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong project management skills. Ability to work closely with client project manager, internal staff, and subconsultants. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience performing research, analyzing data, and communicating results. Specific experience with the Florida Department of Transportation is a plus.

Transportation Analyst

Cambridge Systematics is seeking a self motivated independent problem solver to assist with composing multimodal performance measures, implementing travel time reliability, and evaluating mobility performance on roadways throughout Florida. This person will be responsible for compiling data from various sources, using algorithmic models, and writing reports. The position is responsible for conducting research and performing comparative analyses. A candidate should be skilled in performance measurement, knowledgeable of data acquisition, and have the ability to do technical writing. The individual serving in this position will be exposed to many new opportunities as state DOTs and MPOs develop new performance based planning programs.
Qualifications: Masters Degree; or Bachelors Degree in engineering or urban planning; or 3 years experience in a related field; fluency in transportation analysis tools.
