Application Support Specialist – Sacramento, CA

The Application Support Specialist’s role is to provide tier-one support to the California High-Speed Rail Program SharePoint and Primavera Contract Management users. The Application Support Specialist will be tasked with designing, executing, assessing, and troubleshooting SharePoint and Primavera Contract Management related solutions to meet identified business needs. Support activities include, but are not limited to: access control, tool development, and site development.

Specific Duties Include:

Business Analysis:

  • Analyze current business requirements and map to SharePoint-based solutions.
  • Work with end-users to identify where SharePoint and Contract Management can be leveraged.
  • Ensure uniform navigation throughout sub-sites.
  • Work with the CHSRP SharePoint Administrator and Lead Cost Engineer to coordinate with other project departments and divisions to develop cross-domain integration and solutions.

Management:

  • Determine, create and manage hierarchy of sub-sites.
  • Setup and manage alerts to monitor activity on business critical information.
  • Manage permissions.
  • Create, leverage and manage content types, site columns and templates for re-use in the sites.

Information Architecture:

  • Utilize identified business requirements to architect SharePoint and Contract Management based solutions that best meet the needs of the requestors.

Maintenance:

  • Monitor SharePoint site usage and follow up on dormancy.
  • Monitor SharePoint for excessive complexity and suggest streamlined alternatives.
  • Monitor SharePoint to ensure workflow and tasks are working correctly and emails are going out.
  • Monitor Contract Management reports to ensure accurate conveyance of information.

Support:

  • Provide first-tier day-to-day support for users and other Site Owners below top level site.
  • Identify and manage client requirements.
  • Train end users on basic SharePoint and Contract Manager functionality and usage.
  • Direct users to training material and resources available in the company.
  • Identify training gaps and escalate to Administrator & Management team.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve SharePoint and Contract Management related errors – escalate when required.
  • Encourage user adoption and embed a sense of excitement in the business regarding SharePoint and Contract Management.

Minimum Requirements:

Formal Education & Certification:

  • University degree in computer science or software engineering and/or four or more years equivalent work experience in SharePoint Site Administration or Oracle Primavera applications.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Strong PC literacy and Microsoft Office and SharePoint skills.
  • Business acumen, strong organizational and research skills, and ability prioritize and coordinate.
  • Ability to work without supervision and under pressure.
  • Show initiative and able to think ‘outside the box’.
  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Flexible and open to change.

Environmental Planner –  Sacramento, CA

Cordoba Corporation is part of the team providing Program Management services for the California High-Speed Rail Project (CHSTP). This multi-billion dollar project is an 800 mile high-speed rail passenger service, which will run from Sacramento in the North to San Diego in the South, with major interchange hubs in between, including San Francisco and Los Angeles. This will be the first, true high-speed rail project in America, with trains operating at up to 220 mph.

We have an immediate opportunity for an Environmental Planner to work on CHSTP in Sacramento. This position will provide assistance to the senior environmental staff on the management and oversight of environmental documents being prepared by Regional Consultants on the nine sections of the High Speed Rail Project. Our ideal candidate would have experience in the preparation of Environmental Impact Reports and Environmental Impacts Statements in the state of California. This position will assist in providing technical direction to the Regional Consultants on the preparation of environmental documents and permits and in reviewing the documents for consistency and adequacy with the prescribed CHSR methods. The selected candidate will work interactively with the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) personnel, the Program Management Team (PMT), PB staff located throughout the State, Regional Consultants, and the Federal Railroad Administration towards the successful completion of environmental certification and securing a Record of Decision from the federal government for the specific sections of the HSR.

In addition to NEPA/CEQA experience, our ideal candidate would have some knowledge and experience in permitting and environmental clearance activities associated with natural resources such as the 404/408 permits from the Army Corps of Engineers, Biological Assessment for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Section 401/402 permits from the State Water Resources Control Board, Section 1602 and Section 20181 permit from the California Department of Fish and Game, and permitting through the regional Air Quality Control Boards.

Additional tasks may include conducting research and preparing environmental documentation, developing graphics for presentations and reports using GIS and other software, performing quality control reviews, and agency coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with senior planners in the preparation of technical studies and environmental documents, as well as other planning studies. The ideal candidate will be able to take direction from their manager, but also work independently and be a self-starter.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Day to day coordination with regional consultants and state and federal agencies;
  • Assist in directing the collection, analysis, and interpretation of technical data and ensuring that it is compiled in an easily understood and usable format,
  • Compose correspondence and reports regarding project activities
  • Problem solving to eliminate road blocks to the completion of the environmental process.
  • Research, analysis, and determination of potential environmental impacts of the proposed HSR project
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members
  • Possess strong ability to handle a wide array of tasks and multiple responsibilities
  • Represent the environmental team in technical meetings
  • Think creatively and critically about environmental and permitting issues
  • Possess general understanding of GIS and familiarity with graphical design packages a plus.

Education/License Requirements:

  • BS or BA in Geography, Planning, Environmental Science or related field required.
  • Ability to work in the United Stated is required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 4-8 years experience in the planning/environmental profession.
  • Preparation of environmental planning documentation under NEPA/CEQA.
  • Work on major public projects, especially rail projects, is not required, but considered a plus.
  • Working knowledge of GIS, Microstation (or similar), Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project is not required, but considered a plus.
