TRIP Commuter Services Coordinator
TRIP (www.mdtrip.org) is a one-call, one-click resource that provides TDM (transportation demand management) solutions for the Baltimore and central Maryland region. Our TRIP program is funded through a federal Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC) grant. Our call line and website assist transit-dependent populations to access jobs, education, social services and other destinations.
We are expanding our program to work directly with employers and institutions to provide commuting benefits and services. This project will be developed and administered by the Commuter Services Coordinator. The ideal candidate will be a creative and independent individual willing to learn and offer new ideas to help expand and sustain the TRIP program.
Under the direct supervision of the Mobility Manager, the TRIP Commuter Services Coordinator is primarily responsible for building relationships with area employers and organizations, developing commuting solutions and creating Journey-to-Work material, maintaining a GIS database of regional transit systems, and preparing marketing materials and presentations.
The primary objective of the position is to support the TRIP program in its goal to achieve transportation equity for low-income commuters, seniors, individuals with disabilities and the general public.
Ideal candidates will possess a BA or BS degree with relevant coursework in Planning, Geography or Geographic Information Systems, Marketing, Communications, or related fields. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Other required skills or qualifications include:
- Experience in marketing, communication, and outreach.
- Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat).
- Knowledge of ArcGIS.
- Knowledge of local governments, interest in public transportation, TDM, urban planning.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred skills or qualifications include:
- Experience with the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS).
- Experience in website management, maintenance and design. Knowledge of HTML, Javascript, and content management platforms/systems is a plus.
- Experience in project management, including planning, monitoring and problem solving.
A portfolio of related work may be requested.
Compensation: Full-time position; $45,000-$50,000 per year, based on relevant experience

Mobility project coordinator
Central Maryland Regional Transit (CMRT) seeks a mobility project coordinator to support the Transportation Resource Information Point (TRIP – www.MDTRIP.org) project. The ideal candidate will be a creative and independent person willing to learn and offer new ideas to help expand the TRIP project.
This position will report to the project’s mobility manager. The coordinator will be responsible for: 1) Promoting the TRIP brand, website, and call center through social media, outreach events, website development and coalition building; 2) Building and maintaining an accurate, up-to-date database of transit providers’ maps, schedules, fare and contact information; 3) Keeping accurate records of program activities to fulfill grant reporting requirements; and 4) Supporting the TRIP program through various tasks, including supporting the TRIP advisory board, conducting research, analyzing data, preparing presentations, and supporting grant writing.
Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor of Arts or Science from an accredited institution in the fields of Business or Public Administration, Marketing and/or Communications, Transportation and/or Urban Planning, or related fields. Other specific skills or qualifications include:
- Experience in communication and marketing are strongly desired.
- Knowledge of local governments and an understanding of public transportation, operations, and/or administration are helpful, but not required.
- Expert knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access).
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign).
- Experience in website management, maintenance and design. Knowledge of HTML Javascript, CSS and content management platforms/systems is a plus.
- Experience in project management, including planning, monitoring and problem solving experience is a plus.
