Foursquare Integrated Transportation Planning (Foursquare ITP) has a job opening for a transportation professional with expertise in program implementation and public outreach. The job title and description will be finalized upon selection, but the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the implementation of a public outreach and education campaign on a major transportation related initiative, planning for and managing public outreach and stakeholder engagement for various transit planning studies, and managing and/or contributing to a diverse array of transportation projects for state and local governments, federal agencies, transit agencies, and regional agencies.

The selected candidate will work as part of project teams for all of their work and will be responsible for project and task management, research, analysis, report development, field work and meeting participation on a wide variety of transportation projects. The selected candidate will be involved in a wide array of projects, including transit development plans, transportation needs assessments, station area plans, transit route planning, pedestrian and bicycle plans, financial planning, and transit performance monitoring.
In addition to having the appropriate technical skills, the successful candidate will be a smart, motivated, self-starter who are passionate about transit, transportation planning, and working with stakeholders. The candidates must also be flexible in meeting client demands and operating within a dynamic workflow.
Qualifications
This is a mid-career position – candidates should possess between 8 and 20 years of experience. A strong working knowledge of the Washington Metropolitan area is desired. Bachelors and/or Master’s degree(s) in Transportation Planning/Engineering, Urban Planning, Regional Planning or similar is required.
Any position at Foursquare ITP requires excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Topical area expertise is required in one or more of the following: transit planning; transit program implementation; public outreach; corridor-level transit planning; regional transportation planning; transit development plans; federal transit grant management; transportation demand management (TDM); Environmental Impact Statements/Environmental Assessments; land use and economic development analysis; and strategic planning.
