The New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) is seeking a Special Project & Budget Analyst to support the Division of Financial Management and Administration. This division is responsible for managing the agency’s financial resources, supporting the day-to-day operations, as well as implementing priority projects.
Under the leadership of the Director of Special Projects, the Special Projects & Budget Analyst will support implementation of TLC’s new programs including data and financial analysis to support the budgeting process for agency-wide priority initiatives. The Special Projects & Budget Analyst may also be called upon to support division’s critical functions such as emergency management and internal operational improvements. This position will interface across all internal divisions, including Policy and Licensing. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Project Planning and Performance: Develop work plans and timelines for high-priority and cross-divisional projects, including performance metrics. Implement and manage project milestones, including presenting updates to senior staff as necessary. Task will require an energetic spirit and meticulous attention to detail. Candidate should be organized, adaptable, and be able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Budget and Financial Analysis: Analyze programs and projects across all divisions, including those in the Office of Special Projects, to support budgeting for the entire agency including the Party Bus. Develop reports, tables, and charts as necessary to provide to executive staff. Must have experience and extensive knowledge of Excel and Access.
Writing: Draft concise memos as necessary to facilitate discussion and decision-making among senior staff.
Research: Perform original research to advise senior staff on issues related to improving day-to-day operations of the agency.
