TransportationCamp DC 2016 is close to selling out. If you want to join us, be sure to register as soon as possible, at transportationcamp2016dc.eventbrite.com.
Our fifth-annual TransportationCamp DC is Saturday, January 9, 2016 the day before TRB begins. We’ll provide breakfast, lunch, and an evening reception; but it is the attendees themselves who provide the content of the sessions. This is a fun way to meet people from all over the country who are passionate about transportation. Get your ideas and presentations together. All classrooms will have AV equipment. Last year we had 440 attendees and 48 fantastic sessions – see for yourself on our Hackpad. YPT will be raffling off three annual memberships to participants that use Hackpad to help document the discussions/presentations throughout the day.
This year we have a bonus event in the evening: George Mason University’s Cameron Rian Hays Outside the Box Competition. The top three finalists will present their entries in the auditorium before we throw the doors open to our joint reception. This year we promise we’ll have room for everyone to stay and mingle with hors d’oeuvres and drinks. The Outside the Box competition is free, but we ask everyone to register separately for it.
Mobility Lab is organizing the event with our friends at AASHTO, Eno Center for Transportation, George Mason University, TransitCenter, Young Professionals inTransportation, the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and and the Transportation Research Board. We also have some great sponsors on board who are helping to make TransportationCamp possible: Uber, Cambridge Systematics, Zipcar, LMI Research Institute, Car2Go, Lyft, Kimley-Horn, and GlobeSherpa.
Registration is only $35; we hope you’ll join us! More information at transportationcamp.org/events/dc-2016.
