YPT-Nashville Co-Hosts Movie Screening

Bikes vs Cars Movie Screening

YPT-Nashville and Walk Bike Nashville teamed up to co-host a movie screening on March 22 at the Carmike Bellevue movie theater. Almost 100 attendees showed up to see Bikes vs. Cars, which premiered at the SXSW film festival. The movie explores how issues facing cyclists stem from the inability of city infrastructures to provide for both bikes and cars in an increasingly populated world. The film looks toward a future where cars and bikes can share space instead of competing for it, where anyone who wants to ride a bike can travel safely and conveniently.

The film was screened through Tugg.com, a platform that helps individuals and organizations host screenings in their local theaters. Gresham, Smith and Partners sponsored the event, which provided reduced and free tickets to movie-goers.

After the screening, the group went to a nearby pub to discuss the movie and transportation issues facing the region.
