Responsibilities:

Operating Analytics is dedicated to working with the Department of Subways’ multiple divisions to support managers in their efforts to refine business practices and facilitate the implementation of data driven process improvements. The unit provides analytic support and develops cost effective strategies to meet objectives. Operating Analytics acts as the project lead for cross-divisional and inter-departmental projects, partners with Operational Managers to support them in achieving their goals, and coordinates with other units within Finance.

Work in this group includes business process mapping, analysis of operating data, budget development, and strategy development to tackle current business challenges. The team also develops new tools and utilizes existing data sources to provide meaningful insight into current operating metrics. Projects are developed with a focus on successful implementation in an operating environment. Field visits may be conducted to better understand operations. Reports and presentations are created to disseminate the team’s analysis and conclusions.

Tasks may include developing and implementing strategic solutions, serving as project manager, and providing analytical support to various divisions within the Department of Subways. Specific activities could include developing and populating innovative reporting and transparency tools, liaising with operating and planning groups to ensure thorough project coordination, and defining and employing best practice procedures. The candidate may work on tasks related to providing project support and budget management for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) efforts. Individuals will also assist with analyses of strategic and other special projects as necessary.
