Description
Serves as a transportation professional responsible for initiating sales leads and establishing Transportation Demand Management (TDM) programs at major employer sites. Encourages the use of carpooling, vanpooling, teleworking, alternative work schedules, Guaranteed Ride Home Program, and other transportation options. Develops marketing strategies and action plans to encourage travel to work via bus and rail service, or ridesharing. Promotes employer transit benefits (Smart Benefits) commuter programs at special events such as transportation fairs, commuter workshops, lunch and learns. Assists employee transportation coordinators, tracks program activities using ACT database contact management software. Conducts employee transportation surveys and plans promotional events; Best Workplaces for Commuters, Car Free Day, Bike to Work Day and Try Transit Week. Attends the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) Regional Employer Outreach and Commuter Connections Sub Committee meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, urban, regional or transportation planning, or a closely related field; plus two years of experience related to transportation planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience in working with the chamber of commerce, or other business and public sector organizations. Able to solicit TDM Program Commitments from major employers. Two plus years of experience in conduction effective presentations and facilitates cooperation and coordination among employers with corporate campuses and corridors to create effective TDM partnerships. Able to formulate and implement strategic marketing and action plans.
