The Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a vacancy in the Engineering I/II class of work, Grade G23/G26, in the Office of Engineering and Project Management.
This is an entry-level to full performance professional position that provides skilled and technical work in support of County engineering and planning projects. This position is responsible for engineering work supporting assignments in the Traffic Safety Division related to a variety of transportation projects requiring the application of sound engineering practices and principles.
Incumbents in this position will visit work sites to make field investigations, conduct surveys, and monitor construction and make recommendations as necessary. Hazards include those requiring the use of hard hats, eye protection, and reflective vests worn when working in moving traffic or construction sites. Physical effort involves occasional standing for long periods and/or walking over rough and uneven constructions sites, and occasional stooping, bending, reaching and climbing at construction sites.
