Many thanks to our new Bike Level Sponsor, the USDOT Bureau of Transportation Statistics, for their generous support!

Are you ready to bring transformative change to traditional mapping techniques at the Federal level? Have you ever wanted to influence and improve the effectiveness of geospatial data at the national level?  Are you obsessed with simplifying complex problems with data and visuals that easily convey information in new, understandable ways on maps?  The future of geospatial transportation data holds great promise as well as new challenges. The democratization of data and omnipresence of technology in transportation has created the opportunity to tap vast new empirical data resources.  These changes push us, as cartographers, analysts and statisticians, to rethink our relationship with maps.

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics seeks our next cartographer to take up these challenges.   This Cartographer position will explore opportunities to advance cartographic techniques that are appropriate for statistical analysis and will create new map based products that clearly and innovatively convey transportation statistics for BTS to use in analysis and publish to the world.  Apply for a position with our team as we lead the creation of a new national geospatial transportation portfolio in the era of big data, and where you build novel cartographic products and implement innovative geospatial analysis.

If you have the experience and a demonstrable record of proven results, I encourage you to apply to this Washington, D.C.-based position.  We are looking for a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
