Duties and Responsibilities:
  • ITS and Traffic Signal Eletrical Design
  • Adaptive Traffic Signal design
  • Will be responsible for developing, updating and reviewing design documents, technical specifications and other project related document. More specifically this person will be involved with ITS architecture systems engineering analysis and plans specification and estimates (PS&E) development for Freeway, Arterial and Transit ITS systems including ITS master plan, active traffic management system for dynamic lane and speed management. Preferably, including all electronic/open road tolling systems, fiber optics and wireless communication systems and local area network power distribution systems

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist more experienced engineers with project work and tasks
  • Provide routine traffic engineering operations and safety analyses of intersections, corridors, interchanges, freeways, and ramps
  • Design traffic elements (traffic signal design and timing, signing and striping, ITS, lighting)
  • Develop maintenance of traffic (MOT) and traffic control concepts and plans
  • Attend project progress meetings, design review, operations, and project production and delivery

WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Highway Construction Office Manager for our Albuquerque office, working on an NMDOT roadway rehabilitation project located in Silver City, NM.

The Office Manager shall support the NMDOT Project Manager by providing managerial, clerical, and auditing duties as follows:

  • Verifying and preparing project documents, including monthly contractor pay estimates, change orders, submittals and RFI Logs, developing a project summary, maintaining as-built plans and maintaining construction source document books. 
  • Reviewing plans, specifications, special provisions and contract documents to determine project administrative requirements
  • Developing the contractor’s monthly progress payments and vouchers for payment
  • Verifying project records, including computer records, account numbers and codes, develop working days summaries, verify pay quantities, legal loads and documentation, check subcontracts and check contractor’s payrolls. 
  • Provide record keeping and filing of project documentation in compliance with all client policies and procedures. 
  • Prepare correspondence; maintain equipment inventories
  • Prepare construction project close-out forms and documents

Duties and Responsibilities:
 
The Trackwork Inspector monitors active construction sites for the Administration, providing the Resident Engineer (RE) with daily progress reports. As such, their duties  include:
  • On-site supervision of Contractor work crews to verify and ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Read and interpret contract documents
  • Direct supervision of Contractor work crews to verify and that good & safe construction practices are being employed to produce quality results
  • Directly responsible for reporting on-site activities and daily progress to the Resident Engineer (RE) via standardized reporting
  • Responsible for calculation and determination of pay quantities
  • Witness, understand, and verify all required on-site testing is being performed in accordance with applicable standards
  • Prepare Non-Conformance Reports per construction inspection and monitor and log corrective action
  • Flexible to work nights, alternate shifts and weekends as allowed in active Transit rail system
  • Provide technical assistance as required by Resident Engineer
  • Assist in Constructability Review

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for safe and timely inspection of train control, signal, communications and electrical systems on critical Transit infrastructure projects. The candidate must demonstrate a solid knowledge of civil, electrical construction including track and systems, and good engineering judgment in providing oversight and inspection of engineering projects of significant importance.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:   
  • Inspects train control signals, communications and electrical systems per equipment manufacturer requirements, CPUC, FRA and Transit agency requirements
  • Assist RE with review and respond to contractor requests for information
  • Enforce compliance with the construction contract documents in accordance with Plans and Specifications in accordance with the governing agency
  • Monitoring Construction in a transit/rail operating environment
  • Observe contractor performance for compliance with project safety protocol
  • Interact with construction contractors in performance of Quality Assurance inspections
  • Experience working on Transit project involving third rail power
  • Inspect and record track and systems in an active rail system
  • Flexible to work nights, alternate shifts and weekends as allowed in active rail system
  • Track construction progress and verify contractor payment quantities
