Duties and Responsibilities:
 
The Construction Inspector will report to the senior inspector/Resident Engineer and will:
  • Inspect contractor construction activities for conformance with the plans, specifications and project proposal
  • Prepare written documentation such as daily work reports, as-built sketches, daily time and material records, and other documents required by the client
  • Notify senior staff when extra work is identified in the field and help prepare estimates for change orders by tracking contractors’ materials, equipment, labor and other resources
  • Keep track of work in place totals for all items of work including contract work, extra work, time and material work on a daily basis,
  • Perform field testing and yield checks for soil, concrete and asphalt placements
  • Track, sample and log material deliveries, confirm that all materials used conform to the project plans, specifications and project proposal

  • Design standard SCADA systems that include: SCADA and HMI cabinet, SCADA architecture drawings, fiber optic one-line drawings, patch panel details, points lists, substation communication panel, O&M communication panel and overall communication plan.

This position requires the oversight and completion of various tasks to support siting and permitting of offshore wind, utility, energy and infrastructure projects, including offshore wind, pipelines and related facilities, transmission lines, substations, and renewable energy and transportation projects. It is essential that the candidate have a thorough understanding of environmental laws and regulations which are the framework for the development of energy infrastructure development. In depth knowledge of permit applications, wetland and stream impacts, rare, threatened and endangered species consultation, land use, overhead and underground utility construction methodologies, water quality and stormwater management is desired. Familiarity with these issues and their application to energy and land development projects is strongly preferred. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between projects and the community
  • Implement effective public outreach strategies for high profile transportation projects as needed

Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Development 
  • Assist with the planning, development and implementation of transit and transportation projects, under close supervision
  • Draft technical memorandum and sections of documents for planning and technical studies under general direction from senior staff
  • Develop and prepare figures and graphics for reports and presentations under general direction from senior staff
  • Demonstrates commitment to keeping up-to-date in knowledge of current trends
Analysis   
Conduct data collection, research, surveys, documentation and technical work under general direction from senior staff
Assists in creating, editing, and analyzing information within Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to produce maps and spatial analysis for a variety of topic areas, including: demographics, travel patterns and others  
 
Collaboration  
  • Participate in public and stakeholder engagement in a professional manner    
  • Collaborate on presentation material and ideas with other staff in preparation for public meetings or interactions

We are seeking a Senior OFFICE ENGINEER to join our Construction Services Group in our Antioch, California office.  Actual reporting site will be throughout the SF Bay Area depending on client needs.
 
The Senior Office Engineer will assist the Resident Engineer in all aspects of required office construction engineering work, e.g. setting up and maintaining project files and processing required documents and progress payments as necessary.  
 
Job Duties:
  • Act as Interim Resident Engineer in absence of Resident Engineer
  • Review and analyze Contractor schedule
  • Prepare independent schedule to monitor contractor’s progress
  • Direct and manage a team of construction inspectors and engineers
  • Interact with construction contractors in performance of Quality Assurance inspections
  • Review/Approval of  technical engineering submittals for compliance with plans / specifications 
  • Perform Engineering calculations
  • Review Engineering calculations 
  • Review Notice of Potential Claims (NOPC) and provide recommendations, review contractors Contract Change Orders (CCO’s) requests, and negotiate CCO’s and make recommendations to the RE
  • Prepare / estimate  contract change orders for the plans / specifications 
  • Respond to contractors requests for clarifications of the plans / specifications
  • Periodic review of field work to verify compliance with plans / specifications
  • Prepare marked up as-built drawings for contract compliance 
  • Review and update schedules and record drawings
  • Conduct weekly meetings with Contractor, and others as requested by RE.
  • Review and approve contractor pay estimates
  • Review certified payroll
  • Perform other duties assigned
  • Tasks performed are of moderate complexity using professional engineering judgement.
