The Transportation Facilities Group (TFG) leads and design projects that supports local and regional growth initiatives through small and large transportation projects.  Our goal is to team with our agency clients and to develop solutions to the complex challenge of advancing transportation throughout the region.   TFG has over 60 engineers and architects throughout the Northeast Region, with major design hubs located in New York City, Boston, St Louis and San Francisco. 
 
The position offers varied projects in the transportation field within the NY Metro Region.  The Structural Engineer II position will work under the supervision of a senior structural engineer and includes designs in rail and bus stations, pre-k thru higher education projects, airports, transportation hubs, rail systems, as well a wide array of projects that lead and support the engineering divisions.   Clients include NYCT, MTA Bus, LIRR, MNR, PANY&NJ, Amtrak, NJ Transit, NYC SCA, contractors, and local utilities.  The scale of work varies from small to very large projects and offers the candidate the ability to continually switch between multiple project types on any given day, and offers tremendous exposure to varied disciplines within the New York Office.
 
Responsibilities include:

WSP’s Morristown, NJ office has an opening for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer, with a Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent.  Candidate must possess a Professional Engineer’s License and be competent in all conventional aspects of technical civil design to support transportation projects.  Candidate must be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment with regard to standard design and engineering techniques and procedures for roadway projects.  Candidate will work on small projects or portions of larger projects in a team-oriented environment.  Candidate will be a task leader for specific Civil Engineering aspects of a project’s design, including development of roadway layout, grading, drainage, access, Right-of-Way, roadway sections, earthwork, quantity calculation, construction cost estimation and utility relocation schemes.
