WSP USA is seeking a highly energetic, self-motivated, and goal oriented Structural Engineer II for Transportation Facilities Group in the New York office. Senior Proposal Manager – 49344

WSP’s Morristown, NJ office has an opening for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer, with a Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent. Candidate must possess a Professional Engineer’s License and be competent in all conventional aspects of technical civil design to support transportation projects. Candidate must be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment with regard to standard design and engineering techniques and procedures for roadway projects. Candidate will work on small projects or portions of larger projects in a team-oriented environment. Candidate will be a task leader for specific Civil Engineering aspects of a project’s design, including development of roadway layout, grading, drainage, access, Right-of-Way, roadway sections, earthwork, quantity calculation, construction cost estimation and utility relocation schemes.

We are seeking a candidate with effective oral/written communication skills who can assist with client contacts at meetings/and other specific client interaction. This position requires the oversight and completion of various tasks to support siting and permitting of offshore wind, utility, energy and infrastructure projects, including offshore wind, pipelines and related facilities, transmission lines, substations, and renewable energy and transportation projects. It is essential that the candidate have a thorough understanding of environmental laws and regulations which are the framework for the development of energy infrastructure development. In depth knowledge of permit applications, wetland and stream impacts, rare, threatened and endangered species consultation, land use, overhead and underground utility construction methodologies, water quality and stormwater management is desired. Familiarity with these issues and their application to energy and land development projects is strongly preferred. The Sr. Environmental Consultant will also be supporting business development efforts for our expanding environmental services practice. This position is a special assignment to the National Parks Service (NPS) for up to three and a half years. Subsequent to the assignment the employee will be assemilated into the WSP Office and will be involved in active traffic related projects for other clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1) National Parks Service Assignment

• Work on the NPS Traffic Data Annual Report, including preparing park chapters.

• Investigate new traffic counting technologies and determine the applicability to different
