An interest in or experience with traffic signal design is a plus. Requirements

· A Professional Engineering license; Professional Transportation Operations Engineer (P.T.O.E.) is a plus

· At least 5 years of traffic engineering experience

· A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil/transportation engineering

· Experience developing conceptual designs for intersections and corridors in CAD

· Experience developing sign and marking plans for intersections

· Understanding of basic geometric design principles of roadways and industry roadway design standards

· Strong understanding of MUTCD standards at the state and Federal level

· Strong proficiency using modeling software such as Synchro

· Knowledge of SimTraffic, Highway Capacity Software, SIDRA, VISSIM, as well as AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred

· Experience with traffic signal design is a plus

Requirements

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil/transportation engineering, urban design, landscape architecture, or related field

• 5+ years of transportation experience, with a demonstrated interest in developing construction documents

• Professional Engineering license in Oregon (or ability to obtain)

• Experience with Computer Automated Design (MicroStation or AutoCad)

• A broad knowledge base in civil engineering (transportation focus)

• Detailed design experience for intersection and corridor wide improvements, including, but not limited to, multimodal accommodations for all ages and abilities, meeting minimum ADA and drainage requirements.

• Specific knowledge of horizontal and vertical roadway geometric design (AASHTO and MUTCD)

• Experience developing construction documents and cost estimates

• Interest in multimodal and active transportation issues and design (specifically for bicycle, pedestrian, Safe Routes to School, and/or transit integration)

• Excellent task and time management skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications
