Senior Airport Engineer, Aviation Planning

Responsibilities
The Aviation Department of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is currently seeking an experienced Senior Airport Architect/Engineer to join the aviation planning team that will help transform The Port Authority’s airports into world-class 21st Century airports. The successful candidate will have broad understanding in the following aviation planning disciplines: landside, terminal, and airside.
The Senior Airport Architect/Engineer will be responsible for:
- Preparation and delivery of a wide variety of airport planning projects and technical reports encompassing landside, terminal, airside and support facilities components for all five (5) airports (JFK, EWR, LGA, TEB & SWF) in the Port Authority’s airport system.
- Planning deliverables including but not limited to airport elements deficiency identification, flight day activities scheduling & profiles, facilities requirements, alternatives development, conceptual & functional plans, capacity & demand analyses, feasibility study, alternative evaluation process & recommendation, as well as capital plan formulations.
- Developing, overseeing and analyzing airport simulation models (landside, terminal and airside).
- Preparation of internal and external stakeholder presentations and briefing materials.
- Assisting the Federal Grant Program Manager with the preparation of Airport Capital Improvement Program (ACIP) documents and grant applications, Airport Layout Plan(ALP), lease exhibits, other airport operations maps, planning data inventory, as well as the coordination of the administrative tasks for Aviation’s Call-in Consultants Program.
- The applicant must be able to travel to all Port Authority airports, as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering.
- Minimum Three (3) years’ experience in Aviation facility planning and design to include the development of planning strategies, airport terminal and other supporting infrastructure needs analyses.
- Experience preparing and delivering contracts, Requests for Proposal (RFP), tenant lease site plans, terminal or other airport infrastructure functional drawings, conceptual drawings, or presentation materials
- Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Advisory Circulars and other industry publications and standards as they relate to airport terminal and master planning, zoning, airport design, capacity & demand, AIP grant and state & local codes & industry design standards.

Senior Logistics Analyst

Responsibilities
The Port Department’s mission is to develop and manage competitive port infrastructure and service by providing leadership to expedite movement of cargo in a secure, environmentally, and financially sound manner. The Business Development and Industry Relations unit within the Port Department is seeking a Senior Logistics Analyst to join their team. Reporting directly to the Manager, Strategic Analysis and Industry Relations, the selected candidate will be responsible for the administration and management of the Port of New York & New Jersey’s Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) No. 49 Program and assist in the execution of marketing programs and business initiatives to promote business in the Port of NY & NJ to the container, bulk, break bulk, and auto industries.
- Manage the FTZ authorization and activation processes for customers who seek to operate with FTZ No. 49.
- Promote FTZ No. 49 to heighten awareness of the program to various target audiences and generate interest in utilizing the zone.
- Prepare Annual Report for FTZ No. 49, as required by the Foreign-Trade Zones Board, U.S. Department of Commerce.
- Represent the Port Authority with local and national government agencies (U.S. Customs, USDA, FDA, Fish & Wildlife) on regulations and processes affecting the port and facilitation of trade.
- Promote the Port of New York & New Jersey to potential users of FTZ No. 49 and actively participate with the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with port stakeholders and provide departmental staff with information obtained pertaining to the industry’s operational and/or service needs and concerns.
- Synthesize information garnered from industry contacts and experience into actionable items by the Department to improve the Port’s competitive position and level of customer service.
Qualifications
Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in international business, marine transportation, supply chain management, logistics, or other related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in the shipping industry in FTZ operations, customs, and/or finance.

- Demonstrated understanding of PONYNJ marine terminals as well as ancillary services including rail;

Staff Leasing/Property Representative

Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Manager and Assistant Manager, Leasing & Property Development, the selected candidate will be responsible for negotiating, managing, and administering terms and conditions of real estate leases and agreements for accounts located at Port marine terminal facilities in New Jersey and New York. Critical functions of this position include negotiating lease terms, exercising oversight of tenants and port users with regard to lease compliance using SAP Real Estate and Yardi Voyager, managing accounts receivable and customer service issues, administration of fees associated with leases and other property uses, resolving tenant disputes, acting as a point of contact for tenants, and ensuring the authorization and execution of appropriate legal documents for new and existing leasing agreements. Other duties include managing and updating databases, drafting reports, and RFPs as required.
Qualifications
Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Real Estate, Financial Analysis, Economics, or a related field AND/OR a minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in negotiations, contract management, project management and/or leasing.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- The selected candidate will be required to pass a Federal Security Background check and obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) to work in a maritime environment as required by Department of Homeland Security.
