Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Physical Plant Manager (PPM), the Maintenance Services Manager (MSM) is responsible and accountable for managing the performance of the Port Authority Bus Terminal’s (PABT) Maintenance, Structural Integrity, Environmental, Hazardous Waste Management, Sanitation, Tenant Alteration Process, and Construction programs, including in-house projects.

The MSM will be responsible coordinating all physical plant activities with project management, engineering, other departments, and outside agencies for construction projects, including special inspections.
The MSM will have oversight responsibilities for managing multiple projects of varying complexities, including In-House Capital Construction performed at the PABT by maintenance staff of various trade disciplines. The MSM will be required to develop project proposals including scope of work and budget requirements for review and approval by the department. Monitor project progress for milestone completion and ensure expenditures are within budget. Establish and monitor performance objectives for all designated staff associated with those projects.
Other responsibilities will include, but not be limited to facility tenant support, and assistance as needed with early PABT Redevelopment efforts. In the absence of the PPM, the MSM may assume responsibility for the maintenance operations at the PABT
Qualifications

Senior Marine Terminal Operations Representative

Reporting to the Deputy General Manager, the Senior Marine Terminal Operations Representative is responsible for overseeing and monitoring the operations of terminal operators and warehouse tenants based in Red Hook, Brooklyn and Port Ivory/Howland Hook, Staten Island. Under the direction of the Manager, Airport Operations, the Manager, Aeronautical (Airside) Operations will:
- Manage a team of unionized Operations and Supervisory staff, as well as non-union management staff to ensure the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the aeronautical area at EWR
- Ensure the infrastructure (runways, taxiways, ramps, navigational aids, airfield lighting, airfield markings, airfield pavement, etc.) are maintained and operated in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 139 regulations. This requires tracking and following up on necessary maintenance items and all safety related issues
- Coordinate with various Port Authority (PA) staff to obtain necessary resources that support the mission of the Aeronautical Operations unit
- Communicate with FAA, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Airlines, Ground Handling Companies, and other Airport Stakeholders to ensure safety is maintained as capital programs change the operating environment.
- Keep stakeholders informed of any proposed construction and potential impacts to their operations and help devise solutions to keep the operation running normally throughout the work
- Manage the unit’s budget, report monthly discrepancies, and make necessary adjustments to keep expenses within budget tolerances
- Manage and direct aeronautical functions and programs involving airside operations, airport self-inspection, aeronautical construction, wildlife hazard management, snow and ice control, aircraft emergency response, efficient surface movement, FOD control, Airfield Driver Training and coordination and dissemination of information to the airport community
