Senior Software Engineer

StreetLight Data is seeking a high caliber Sr. Software Engineer to be part of our growing team. This team member will work on both the frontend and backend of the StreetLight InSight SaaS web application that our subscription customers use to explore and visualize travel patterns in the real world. This position reports to the Senior Director of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, implement, and maintain customer-facing features, including both frontend and backend components, in the StreetLight InSight SaaS web application and analytics serving pipeline
    • Interface among our San Francisco, Vancouver, and Eastern European teams, and mentor more junior engineers
    • Deliver product releases to production each month
    • Write automated unit tests and participate in peer design and code reviews
    • Collaborate daily with the other developers and QA engineers on the team, as well as with Product Management
    • Productize analytics handoffs from the Data Science and Data Engineering team
    • Tune StreetLight InSight for performance, scalability, and reliable operation to serve our growing customer base
    • Assist Support and Operations in resolving production issues when needed, and improve the product to avoid them in the future

Skills & Qualifications:

    • BS / MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an Engineering discipline from a top university
    • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer at a software product company, preferable in an enterprise market
    • 3+ years of experience developing web-based SaaS applications
    • Competence and interest in both frontend and backend web development
    • Proficiency in either JavaScript or Python (both would be a strong plus; Java, Ruby, or Go experience can substitute for Python in a candidate who is open to learning)
    • Experience with SQL databases
    • Product and customer orientation
    • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
    • Quick learner, and a strong team player

StreetLight Data is seeking a Product Designer to augment our design efforts and execute end-to-end design for our transformational SaaS transportation products. You’ll create engaging experiences for our users and work internally to improve the usability, discoverability, and learnability of our powerful tools. If you’re a systems-thinking Product Designer who’s excited to work on complex problems with real-world impact and possess a keen eye for design, come help us measure, power, and improve mobility!
 
Candidates located in the San Francisco, CA area that can eventually work from our SF office are preferred but we are open to candidates in the Pacific time zone, including the Vancouver, BC area where we have an office as well.
 
Key Responsibilities:
•Understand and distill complex, broad concepts into beautiful and functional mockups and prototypes
•Apply your skills throughout the product life-cycle including research, sketches, wireframes, interaction, and visual design through prototyping and usability testing
•Partner with product marketers, engineers, and leadership to craft useful, delightful product experiences
•Support and contribute to user testing strategy and execution
•Track product usage data and metrics to validate designs post-launch
•Develop and present high-level research, journey-maps, user-flows, and wireframes to effectively communicate ideas
 
Skills & Qualifications:
•5+ years experience designing and delivering user-centered, enterprise software experiences
•Demonstrated experience leading end to end product design decisions from early concept to product launch
•Deep empathy with an understanding of user needs and passion for designing beautiful, functional software products
•Experience with user research, prototyping, HTML, CSS, JS
•Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and ideally a breadth of design tools like Sketch, Axure, Invision, Figma
•Geospatial visualization background preferred, but not required

Enterprise Sales Development Representative

StreetLight is seeking an Enterprise Sales Development Representative that will prospect and qualify new customers across all market segments. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of successfully achieving and surpassing quota goals, and has demonstrated success at identifying new opportunities. We are looking for candidates in San Francisco, CA, but are open to remote as well.
 
What you’ll be doing:
·        Generating new business opportunities to fuel our sales pipeline via cold calling, email outreach, and social media channels
·        Contact and qualify all inbound leads in addition to executing collaborative marketing campaigns and follow up efforts
·        Prospecting and thoughtfully researching into new and existing accounts in an effort to schedule a productive “next” meeting with our team.
·        Utilize a consultative, collaborative sales approach by uncovering prospects’ business challenges and determining if StreetLight InSight® will meet their needs
·        Effectively communicate the benefits of StreetLight InSight® to prospects and fully understand their needs before scheduling follow-up meetings
·        Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections, and share your insights with the broader sales and marketing team 
·        Closely collaborate with Account Executives to help grow and fill pipelines and to create, develop, and manage strategic accounts
·        Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of products, industry trends, and competition in the mobility analytics industry
·        Make 50 to 75 *smart* outbound calls per day
·        Achieve monthly quotas of sourced opportunities, and provide regular reports on achievements
·        Provide closed-loop feedback to ensure continuous process operation, and work closely with the Sales Operations Director and Marketing team to optimize and improve reporting processes
 
What we need to see:
·        Undergraduate degree or equivalent
·        1-2 years of SaaS sales development experience
·        A strong work ethic and understanding that self-discipline and hard work are a minimum standard for success in Sales
·        Familiarity with modern sales engagement and automation tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, SalesLoft, Salesforce.com
·        A highly motivated, self starter that can organize their daily tasks with efficiency and logic in mind.
·        Proven track record of exceeding high-volume sales targets and experience succeeding in a goal-driven environment – for you, quotas are designed to be crushed
·        High-volume cold calling experience with call structure and control strongly preferred
·        Fluency in English, with exemplary written and verbal communications skills
·        Multi-tasker extraordinaire with critical thinking skills and the ability to influence and manage multiple priorities
·        Team-oriented, flexible, and able to see the “big picture” – because our entire team must meet our goals for StreetLight Data to be succeed
