ASHLEY MARIE WOLFE
Initially as JLL Economic Development Manager for BNSF Railway, and later as BNSF Railway Regional Economic Development Manager, Ashley had an opportunity to work on two large-scale rail projects for renewable fuels: Holly Frontier in Artesia, NM, and CVR Energy in Wynnewood, OK, to build a new renewable refinery. These facilities bring in feedstocks (oils) by rail, processes them into renewable fuels, then ship them by rail to CA. Not only did these projects bring in significant and strategic private capital investment, but they also have a combined annual capacity of renewable fuels that will be highly impactful in terms of supplying renewable fuels to the US energy markets.
As JLL Economic Development Manager for BNSF Railway in AZ and NM, a particularly important set of rail projects that Ashley worked on were on BNSF’s “Ennis Spur” in Waddell, AZ. Red Bull and Mark Anthony Brewing (best known for White Claw Hard Seltzer) both located new facilities along this rail line in 2019 and 2020, bringing significant private capital investment and job creation to the region. These projects have been and will continue to be a catalyst for additional industrial development in this area and an overall economic driver for Phoenix’s West Valley. Ashley’s roles in ED with BNSF Railway have allowed her to work closely with local, regional, and state EDOs across AZ, NM, TX and OK to provide meaningful contributions to the transportation industry/community as a whole, as well as at the regional and local levels.
