The Vice Chair for Membership shall work closely with the Vice Chair for Communications and Outreach to maintain the membership database through CiviCRM.

Candidate: Nathaniel Horadam, Georgia Institute of Technology

Position Sought: Vice Chair for Membership

Candidate Statement:

I am applying for the position of Membership Chair for the 2017-2018 board. I am a strong fit for this role, given my current position within the Atlanta transportation community and desire to promote a forward-thinking vision for the organization.

As a graduate student at Georgia Tech, I am well-positioned to recruit and maintain contact with transportation students in both the planning and civil engineering programs. Moreover, I have built a sizeable network from the ranks of traditional transportation firms and agencies, as well as corporate firms and startups in the emerging urban mobility space. Coming to transportation from a technology consulting background, I have encouraged those in the transportation engineering and planning programs at Georgia Tech to engage with tech firms and other non-traditional players newly interested in transportation services.

I would bring the same approach to YPT, aiming not only to sustain the current pipeline, but also targeting for membership individuals who would bring different perspectives. Furthermore, I am excellent at networking and socializing more generally, and have experience serving as an occasional recruiter (at my alma mater) for my prior firm, Accenture.

Candidate: Tyler Martin, Transportation/Traffic Engineer – Jacobs

Position Sought: Vice Chair for Membership

Candidate Statement:

I’m interested in the Membership Chair and Communications Chair positions. This seems like a great opportunity to reach out to young professionals who share an interest in transportation. I think it would be a great way to network and simultaneously become informed about local, relevant transportation projects.
