YPT Atlanta is governed by a Board of Directors who develops the organization’s mission and activities. Board Meetings are generally scheduled the last Monday of each month. David Ederer is a PhD student in Transportation Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. In addition to his studies, he works as a research assistant in the Urban Transportation Information Lab, led by Dr. Kari Watkins. David’s research is focused on how urban spaces can be used to build healthier, more livable cities. Before starting his doctoral studies, he worked at the Centers for      Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and managed the Global Road Safety program.

Tyler Martin, Vice Chair of Administration
Traffic Engineer
Jacobs Engineering Group

Tyler Martin is a Traffic Engineer at Jacobs Engineering Group in Midtown Atlanta. As a Traffic Engineer, he primarily works on signal retiming projects, signal design, and traffic studies. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a dual Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning and Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. During his free time, Tyler enjoys traveling throughout the country and world (always making sure to sample the local transit and transportation options!)

Nicholas Gowen is the Marketing Coordinator at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. In his position at MARTA, Nicholas things of innovative approaches to activating Atlanta’s transit system. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Morehouse College, where he concentrated in Business Administration and Marketing

Kat Maines, Vice Chair of Programs
Senior Planner
Atlanta Planning + Design

Kat Maines, LEED GA is a Senior Planner with Alta Planning + Design. Kat joined the local board as Vice Chair of Programs in February 2018. Her mission is to advance sustainability through expanded choice in alternative transportation. She specializes in finding robust design solutions available within a community’s feasible implementation strategy. Kat completed her Masters in City and Regional Planning at Georgia Tech, and Bachelor of Arts in Architecture at Smith College. She’s a New England native who enjoys running, nerdy board games, and endless debates about fonts and white space.

Nathaniel Horadam, Vice Chair for Membership
Graduate Student
Georgia Institute of Technology

Nathaniel Horadam is a 2nd year Master of City and Regional Planning student at Georgia Tech, where he studies transportation planning. Most of his research focuses on connected and automated vehicle implementation at the local and state levels. Previously, he spent four and a half years as a management consultant at Accenture, working on IT implementations for multiple commercial and federal clients. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University in Middle Eastern Studies, and spends much of his free time running, watching baseball, reading, and listening to Toto’s “Africa” on repeat.

David is a senior consultant in Deloitte’s Government and Public Sector practice. He recently graduated from Georgia Tech receiving an MBA from the Scheller College of Business as well as a MS in Civil Engineering, during which he conducted research in transportation asset management and active transportation. Prior to graduate school he served as a Naval Officer in the Civil Engineers Corps as a construction manager and with Amphibious Construction Battalion ONE. He earned a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina, graduating with honors from the South Carolina Honors College. He enjoys playing soccer, bicycling, brewing beer, and going on adventures with his wife, Lizzie.

Jeshua Pringle, Director At-Large
Senior Management Analyst
City of Atlanta

Jeshua Pringle works as a Senior Management Analyst for the City of Atlanta Department of Public Works in the Office of Transportation. In this role, he utilizes his skills as a Transportation Planner and Traffic Engineer to improve the interaction between parking and land use decisions. He holds a dual Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning and Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Patrick McAtee, Director-At-Large
Roadway Engineer
WSP USA, Inc.

Patrick McAtee is a roadway engineer with WSP USA Inc. with 12 years of experience in all aspects of roadway design.  He has worked on projects for Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee Departments of Transportation, Volkswagen, The Westminster Schools, Chicago Bridge and Iron, and City of Mobile Area Water and Sewer System.  Patrick became a member of the YPT Atlanta Chapter in 2014 and has served a board member since 2017.  He went to college at Auburn University receiving a bachelors of science in civil engineering in 2005 and non-thesis masters in civil engineering with a minor in community planning in 2007.
