Name: David Holloway
Position for Nomination: Vice Chair At-Large
My name is David R. Holloway and I am writing to express my interest in the YPT-Nashville Chapter Board position(s). I am currently employed at Daymar College, where I serve as the CDL Program Director. My professional interests are in the areas of executive management, administration, and employee training and development. Please know that I am very excited about this opportunity and I am eager to make a positive impact within the organization.
I am a State of Tennessee certified Third Party CDL Examiner and a graduate of Belmont University’s Mini MBA program. I obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from SUNY Buffalo State College. I also have an extensive background in the transportation industry. I served with American Eagle Airlines as Lead Station Agent, Ground Security Coordinator, and Lead Environmental Coordinator, UPS Freight as an Operations Supervisor, and the Nashville MTA as Operations Supervisor, Training Facilitator and Bus Operations Training Instructor.
My combination of education and professional experiences matches well with who the YPT-Nashville Chapter seeks as a member of the Board of Directors. I am an active member of the YPT Nashville Chapter. I have also been incredibly impressed with the progress and momentum that our chapter has made. Through participation with YPT-Nashville, I have had the opportunity to be a part of the beginning and growth of an organization that has met a need for more networking and educational opportunities for young professionals and students. The quality of this organization and the people it engages are the primary reason why I decided to seek a board position. If I am awarded the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors, I will work hard to continue to build on the organizations success through, growth in membership, and events and membership engagement.
YPT Board of Director positions appear to have many distinct, varying, and specific duties which would need to be performed. I believe I have both the personality, as well as the social and leadership skills to oversee the many responsibilities of the job. I am a kind and respectful individual. I believe I would aid fellow members in being successful and would make the community comfortable in their interactions with the organization. I am confident that my professional experience would be of value to the YPT-Nashville Board of Directors as we continue to shape our future in transportation together.
