Leadership Positions

Young Professionals in Transportation – Nashville Chapter

Chair

The Chair is responsible for day-to-day implementation of the policy and guidelines of the Board of Directors.  The Chair shall preside over Chapter Board meetings, create and appoint members to Committees, and act as chief official representative of YPT-Nashville.

  • David Morse, P.E. (WSP) – Transportation Engineer

Deputy Chair

The Deputy shall help to coordinate activities involving multiple Officers and assist the Chair in his or her responsibilities.  In the absence of the Chair, the Deputy Chair shall act in the official capacity of the Chair and perform all duties of that office.

  • Reese DeBlois, P.E. (TDOT) – Civil Engineer
  • Ian Preston (TDOT) – Planning Specialist

Secretary/Vice Chair for Administration

The Secretary/Vice Chair for Administration shall keep full and accurate records of all business and proceedings at Chapter Board meetings.  The Secretary/Vice Chair for Administration shall prepare meeting minutes, keep accurate organization records, and manage the election process.

  • Lauren Brooks (Stansell Electric Co) – Project Manager

Treasurer/Vice Chair for Finance

The Treasurer/Vice Chair for Finance shall be responsible for the collection of dues, and the safekeeping of funds, including reporting of receipts, expenditures, and balances at the request of the Chapter Board.

  • Jeff Ultee (TDOT) – Planning Specialist

Vice Chair for Programming

The Vice Chair for Programming shall be responsible for coordinating speakers, dates and locations for the monthly events, which includes the organization of networking events as well.   The Vice Chair for Programming also coordinates with the Vice Chair for Communications regarding electronic communications to the membership about events and updating the YPT-Nashville website as needed.

Vice Chair for Membership

The Vice Chair for Membership is responsible for maintaining an active list of YPT-Nashville members. The Vice Chair is also responsible for recruiting YPT Members and Friends through attending events to actively promote YPT-Nashville as an organization, working with the Vice Chair for Programming to create a set of programs and events that encourage and attract membership, and developing new or different ways to increase participation.

Vice Chair for Communications

The Vice Chair for Communications shall be responsible for activities and communications that promote the organization to the general public, and coordinate activities that facilitate and encourage communication and fellowship among the members and friends of YPT-Nashville.  The Vice Chair is also responsible for communications and outreach to other Nashville area groups as well as maintaining the YPT Nashville electronic media.

  • Brianna Benson (TDOT) – Planning Specialist
  • Lauren Gaines (Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon) – Transportation Designer

Vice Chair at Large

The Vice Chair at Large shall assist multiple Directors and serve as a general representative of the chapter membership.  The Vice Chair at Large shall be responsible for maintaining good relationships between the Nashville chapter and other YPT entities, such as YPT National and other chapters.

  • David Holloway (Gray Line) – General Manager of Contracts

Vice Chair for Collegiates

The Vice Chair for Collegiates shall assist multiple Directors and serve as a general representative of collegiate members. The Vice Chair for Collegiates shall be responsible for maintaining good relationships between the various colleges and universities in the Middle Tennessee area and will coordinate activities with student members in transportation programs.
