We are the Boston chapter of The YPT
Established in September 2010, our goal is to build a well-connected and knowledgeable community of young transportation practitioners and future leaders across our region. We cultivate this through three areas of focus:

Provide an ongoing forum for mutual support among young professionals in transportation, especially those developing their careers

What we do
Networking Events
These are a great way to meet fellow transportation professionals and students in a relaxed, informal setting. We meet at various venues in the Greater Boston region and are always open to facilitating events across New England.
Leadership Seminars
These seminars are a great way to meet and interact with distinguished leaders and peers in transportation. These events generally feature an invited Distinguished Guest, a leader in the transportation field. Participants are encouraged to ask questions about the speakers’ work, their career path, and advice for today’s young professionals.
Technical Tours
These tours offer members the opportunity to explore transportation in practice. We explore everything from behind the scenes at key transportation facilities to walking tours of the hidden infrastructure around us.
Board Meetings
Our Board of Directors meets regularly to discuss goals and strategies, plan events, and coordinate all activities of the chapter. Meetings are held every other Tuesday throughout the year.
Become a Paid Member!
Becoming a YPT member is simple and very accessible! $20 per year gets you access to activities at YPT Boston and YPT International.
Membership to YPT is open to all young transportation professionals and students around the world. We DO NOT have an age-restricted definition of “young” in YPT. Anyone is welcome to participate in our activities.
Your year of membership starts the day we receive your payment of dues and ends the prior day of the following year.
Membership dues are received and processed by our International chapter. Membership dues can be paid online or by check.

Lead a Lunch & Learn
Are you wrapping up or have just finished a project? Are there lessons learned or insights you think are important for other transportation professionals and leaders should know about? Lead a Lunch & Learn!
This hour-long brown bag lecture over lunch is our staple event. Speakers give a 30-45 minute presentation and the balance of the hour is dedicated to audience questions and discussion of the subject matter.
