Trinity Ek (they/she) is the Director of Emerging Professional Programs at Mpact, a US-based nonprofit connecting the network creating transit-oriented communities. They manage the organization’s emerging professionals’ program, the Mpact Innovators; supports Mpact’s three programs (Mpact Transit + Community conference, Mpact:LAB and Mpact:VOICES); and manages Mpact’s social media.
Trinity is deeply passionate about the ways we connect with each other and the world around us. In addition to being on YPT DFW’s board, they are involved in organizing Dallas’ campaign of Week Without Driving. Before starting at Mpact, they worked as a Seeds Student Worker at the Minnesota Department of Transportation in the Office of Transportation System Management on the Policy Planning Unit. They graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, with a degree in Urban Studies and minors in Geographic Information Science and Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management. During their time at UMN, they conducted research about the urban environment which is published in the journal, Open Rivers.
Trinity is an avid walker and enjoys taking transit to and in new places – their transit card collection grows with each trip. They love fiber arts, camping, reading, and (being bad at) trivia. They were born and raised in Minnesota. Trinity currently lives in Dallas, TX.
