U.S. Representative Jim Oberstar

Young Professionals in Transportation is saddened by the death of former U.S. Representative Jim Oberstar this week. He served as a Representative from Minnesota for 36 years, focusing on transportation and infrastructure issues for much of his tenure and becoming the House’s leading expert on transportation policy. He was also a strong supporter of rising professionals and became involved with YPT to encourage the next generation of policy experts. Oberstar’s death represents a significant loss for the transportation community.
