The Maryland Department of Transportation Transit Administration’s Maryland Transit Administration is recruiting for a Transit Asset Management Coordinator. The Transit Asset Management Coordinator will assist with on-going development and coordination of an agency wide Transit Asset Management (TAM) system, development of data driven recommendations and elements associated with the final rules under 49 U.S.. 5326 (Transit Asset Management) and 49 U.S.. 5329 (Public Transportation Safety Program), and oversee the development of the MTA portion of the Annual Attainment Report and associated linkages. This position will develop, implement and manage the federal and state capital transit assets including asset inventory and control as well as ensuring compliance with federal and state asset management requirements. The position will also assist in the coordination, tracking and reporting of asset data and related performance measures through National Transit Database (NTD).

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will meet regularly with asset owners, and managers to update the asset inventory, collect asset condition and performance data, create and update asset management plans, lifecycle management plans, and associated asset management policies, procedures, and software as necessary. Incumbent will also create weekly, monthly and annual reports on asset performance. These reports will require the incumbent to analyze the information provided by project managers and make recommendations. The analysis and recommendations will be used by policymakers to plan for future capital needs. The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively with MTA project managers, MDOT and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) employees, and other external stakeholders. The position also requires professional customer service, addressing the needs of project managers, MTA executives, MDOT officials and FTA officials. Will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Five (5) years of experience in administrative or professional work. One year of this experience must have involved one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit, applying rules and regulations, or exercising responsibility for the development of policies or procedures. ** Two (2) year of the experience must have been in one of the following: managing assets, National Transit Database reporting, or Capital Programming. **

Salary

$49,899.00 – $80,078.00 Annually
